As commercial solar arrays scale, DC-rated breakers and isolators become critical for safe string-level disconnect.
Photovoltaic plants operate at elevated DC voltages where standard AC breakers are unsuitable. Purpose-built DC MCBs and molded-case devices use specialized arc chutes and magnetic blowouts.
Combiner-box designs increasingly pair DC breakers with surge protective devices (SPDs) and monitoring modules. Correct polarity marking and temperature derating are essential in rooftop environments.
